How does the landscape design process work at Urban Landworks of Bloomington, MN.How the Landscape Design process works at Urban Landworks. Enjoying the outdoors in Bloomington, Minnesota is definitely determined by our changing seasons. This is also one of the reasons why this time is so valuable to us. Creating spaces to enjoy this precious time with family and friends outside is what we strive to provide. In Bloomington, Minnesota we embrace the time that we have to get outside. This enjoyment can be enhanced with a beautiful landscape to accompany the time together or in solitude. A carefully constructed landscape can encourage all to get outside during our short season. We love getting people outside by creating spaces that enhance this experience. From the first meeting to the final walkthrough of the completed project, we believe in a process to help with communication and execution. 1. The first meeting: During this meeting at your home we encourage all members of the family to be involved. This is to ensure that all parties are on the same page moving forward. At this time we will discuss your hopes and dreams, possibilities and it will allow us to get to know you and your lifestyle. This is an important part of understanding the space needed to incorporate the proper spaces. We will also do an initial walkthrough of the existing landscape and discuss possibilities for the areas in discussion. We will also talk about items that are important to each client as well as budget for the project. We will also take appropriate measurements and any elevations at this time. 2. Design / Concept work: This next step is to create an initial plan to visually assist what the new landscape could look like. The type of plan is determined by the scope of work for each project. Urban Landworks provides two types of plans. The first type is a hand drawn sketch. This type of drawing is usually used as a loose concept. This is usually used to help with visualizing smaller scale projects. The second, a CADD based plan. This plan is to scale and shows all items in the drawing. This plan may also include a plant schedule if applicable. 3. Development of concept: Rarely is a plan ever perfect after the first draft. During this process we come together with your initial thoughts and questions and determine any appropriate or creative changes to the plan. This conversation helps in determining if we are on the same page. It will also help convey items sectioned out in the proposal. Once a plan is completed to satisfaction we will provide a proposal for the project. 4. Installation of landscape: This is the dirty part. We believe in setting goals and communicating those goals with each client. Many times this process can be the most stressful. Landscaping can be a dirty destructive process. We do our best to minimize damage and help each client understand why we are doing what we are. From the Client, designer, project manager and crew foreman, Communication is key to success. We love what we do, so it is very important to us to respect your investment. We take the time to discuss every aspect with you. When a project is almost complete we like to do a walkthrough to best gather our thought for the final push to completion. This ensures quality results. A final walkthrough is also performed after the crews have finished cleaning up the site. 5. Enjoy:
This is the time to invite friends and family over or just sit back and relax. Getting people together and outside, this is really why we do what we do. But always remember, we build relationships and will always be there to help in the future. Enjoy your new landscape bloomington mn and surrounding cities
